Miron glass outperforms traditional amber and clear glass at keeping food fresh by blocking the transmission of visible light, and protecting against degradation caused by sunlight. To test this, an experiment was conducted in which 3 jars of herbs were stored, each in a different kind of glass (white, amber, and violet) and exposed to an equal amount of sunlight each day.
Two months later, there were visible differences in quality. As shown below, the herbs in the Miron violet glass jar have kept their colour, unlike those stored in the brown and white glass. These herbs also scored better in a blind smell-test.
